can i start my own dance studio when im older?

Ive been dancing since i was in diapers, a long time in other words. When im older i want to start my own dance studio and stuff. But ive been told that i cant unless i have auditioning experience and what not. Is that true? Like to i have to do something before that, like become a sports team cheerleader or whatever.

You can open your own studio. Don't listen to what others say. You can do whatever you want. My dream was to always open my own studio and now I'm taking over the studio I grew up in. It's such an honor and I'm so excited. I hold that studio very near and dear to my heart, and soon it will be mine. I've never gone on auditions. I did take dance in college though. And I also am going to the Dance Masters of America teacher training school. I plan on taking a few college classes on business too...just so I can have a bit of a heads up on what I'm doing on the business end of it. I would suggest you do the same. Dance and business in college. And also try teaching some classes at local studios if you can. You might teach a class and decide you hate kids. Good luck! Happy dancing!
