What equipment is needed to start a vinyl decal business?
My dad and I are planning on opening a decal business. The people we use to work with closed down, but we have decals waiting to printed. I know we won't be making any decals bigger than a rear window. So we decided we probably need about a 36" plotter, but there is so many different brands...whats a good brand? Cost is a issue...we don't want to over spend...but we want quality. Also we see that rolls of vinyl is pretty cheap....what is good supplier for these supplies? The programing for it....we need something dummie proof but has many features for us to widen our options. We just need some general information about getting this started? Please Help....Thank You!
I would check out a few cutter / plotter forums before making your decision. I spent almost 2 months doing research before I purchased my cutter.
For vinyl, I would recommend taking a look at local shops / warehouses first. You can save a lot on shipping that way.
When I do need to order vinyl to be shipped to me, I usually go with a company that has been in business for a while, like US Cutter, Signwarehouse or Fellers.
Some cutter packages comes with the software. So make sure you aren't purchasing twice.
