Tengen toppa gurren lagann, is their a sequel?

I'm just curious, and im not very knowledgeable in this feild, but i would like to know if episode 27 was the end. i get the feeling, and im kinda hoping, that it doesn't stop there. So is there a continuing story or something?

The series unfortunately is over at episode 27 . There is however a series of movies being released in japan now. It is basically a re-animation of the series into a movie. But hey it is quite a popular series, maybe gainax will do a lil somthing for us. You never know!
