Anderson Silva is considered one of today's few best pound-for-pound MMA fighters. But...?

if he jumps up to compete for the UFC light heavyweight championship, who would most likely give him a run for his money on his way up the division? Who would be more technically versed in challenging Anderson Silva's octagon skills?

Rashad Evans? Quinton Jackson? Chuck Liddell? Wanderlei Silva?

Lastly, Silva's fight coming up against Patrick Cote on October 25th...how's it going down?

silva is a great fighter, no doubt, and a fight with any of the top notch light-heavies would be awsome, I agree machita would be a tough fight, anybody who fights that guys gonna have a tough fight cause of his style, I would like to see spider fight more at 205 since it is a much tougher division, Franklin seems to be the best of the best at 185 and got beat up badly twice, so at 205 there would be challenges and we could see how good or great he really is, cause really with the exception of franklin and hendo he hasn't beat anybody of championship quality (unless I'm forgeting somebody) just decent to good fighters.

and for the whole gsp vs spider fight I'm not all that into it. I see it being a mismatch, think about it, silva's a better striker and got better bjj, gsp's a better wrestler but that's his only advantage I see he has, and spider will be physically bigger so he may be able to stuff the takedown, but it may not matter if gsp get's his face punched off going for the takedown. I don't think gsp can knock spider out, he's actually never been ko'd in a fight in pride or the ufc, also hendo if I remember correctly had trouble getting spider down and controlling him there, so just my opinion gsp would have a hell of time taking and or keeping him down (calm down gsp fan boys, just the way I see it). also if serra can ko gsp then silva can murder him.

and for the cote fight yeah, silva by 1st round ko.
